Fish moilee or fish moolie is a popular South Indian dish made using fish fillets and coconut. In Kerala, where it is especially popular, it is sometimes known as fish molly.
Make this spicy curry with any fresh fish, and adjust the spices as per your tastes. Serve it over steamed rice or with hot appams.

A spicy, coconut based fish curry.
Ingredients

Curry Leaves

Mustard seeds
1/2tsp
Pepper Corns
1/2tsp
fennel seeds

green cardamoms
1/2
jug coconut milk
8
cherry tomatoes
coriander leaves
To marinate
1
fish fillet
2
onionsfinely sliced
1inch
Gingerfinely sliced

garlic clovesfinely sliced

Green chiliesslit
1tsp
Turmeric powder
1/2tsp
chili powder
1tsp
coriander powder
1
lemonjuiced
A handful of curry leaves

Instructions

Slice the fillet into bite sized pieces.

Combine the other ingredients to marinate and coat the fish with this mixture.

Allow the fish to marinate for half an hour.

Heat the remaining oil and fry the curry leaves, mustard seeds, pepper corns, fennel seeds and cardamoms.

Allow the seeds to crackle and then stir in the marinated fish.

Pour in the coconut milk and tomatoes and allow the curry to boil.

Turn the heat down and allow it to simmer, stirring occasionally until the fish is cooked.

Garnish with coriander leaves.
